Join us for a 1.5 hour class where we cycle through 108 sun Salutations to welcome the change of the seasons followed by a beautiful guided meditation!
In Yoga philosophy 108 is a sacred number which Mathematicians from the Vedic tradition came to view as the number representing the wholeness of existence. Sun Salutation or 'Surya Namaskar' means to 'bow to the sun' and is traditionally practiced at sunrise facing the sun to bring in and give thanks for the energy of 'Prana' (which in Sanskrit means 'life force.') 'Prana' is what gives vitality to every living thing and is what connects us all. By honouring and connecting with this life giving energy we bring ourselves back to presence and connection.
This practice creates a tremendous amount of upward energy in the body, and, as a result, stagnant energy and emotions will begin to move throughout the body. Acknowledge whatever comes up for you during your practice and let go of the things that no longer serve you. Only you have the power to shift your perspective.
What to bring: dress comfortably, a yoga mat, a water bottle and optional a towel.
